If I could do negative stars I would. This company just plain out sucks *** I don't understand how THIS is the type of health care our military personnel is offered.
They deserve soon much better that this. My daughter had to get surgery for her endometriosis and she literally had to fight to get her surgery approved. On the day she was going to get surgery while in the hospital bed with her iv in and ready to go they decided to call her and tell her they weren't going to approve it anymore that it wasn't a necessary procedure! Strike one!!
Now my daughter fractured her knee Dec 17th its now Jan 2nd and has yet to be seen by the orthopedic because the insurance company denied the first approval since it was from an urgent care and not her pcp. It's freaking stupid if you're hurt you should be able to go and get taken care of regardless of who is available to see you.
She has to wait till the 10th now almost a whole month with a fractured knee and no proper care whatsoever. How is this right???

Tri-Care New Practice of Double Co-Pays Per Visit
I have been receiving two bills for each visit to my In-network Provider--one is a provider charge and one is a facility charge. Tri-Care on the EOB shows I owe a co-pay for each of those items, but it is only one visit.
I spoke with my provider and Tri-Care says they are required to have the bill separated for the provider and facility and that Tri-Care determined I have to pay a co-pay for each bill even though it is a single visit. This issue started about 18 months ago and I have been unable to get it resolved with numerous calls and inquiries.
One Tri-Care representative I spoke to basically told me the practice is legal. Prior to 18 months ago--there would be 2 bills but I was only required to pay 1 co-pay.

Worthless Website
I am a Tricare Select eastern region member. My spouse is on Tricare Select.
I went out on the website and searched for doctors within 40 miles for back pain. The websites recommended top 5 either did not treat spinal orthopedic issues or the clinics did not treat those issues at that location. Further search revealed doctors that were over twice as far as indicated by the search. Even more frustrating was when I called several of the clinics or doctors they were NOT networking providers.
Over 40 min spent just researching to find a doctor. What is the purpose of the website?
Horrible form or customer service that gives the facade of lots to choose from. I really do not expect much considering I do not believe they care.
Poor coverage when turning 65
Preferred solution: Health coverage that I am currently paying for and entitled to have.

Every time you go on active orders you have to pay 2 months in advance to get back on Tricare reserve select. Tricare blames DEERS, DEERS blames Tricare.
Since neither communicate back and forth, they are both horrible. Lost insurance again because DEERS told Tricare I was on active order (which I was not), Emailed DEERS and Tricare my revocation of orders, had confirmation email doing it. DEERS was updated, Tricare did not, now I had to pay 1.5 months of back payment plus 2 months of "pre pay".
Wouldn't work with me but family has to have insurance, so I guess its a month of *** poor quality food for family so Tricare can continue its retarded practices. I wish I didn't need Tricare, they are horrible, I DO NOT recommend them to anyone!

I referred 9 APR 2018. My retirement letter was dated 3 Jul 2019.
1 year 3 months after I retired. After repeated call to ARPC, DEERS, visits to pass and ID and could not get a retired ID because it still had me as active reserve. I called Humana and told them. "We cant change it unless its correct in DEERS.
I finally had a admin friend dig and get a screen shot of my retire orders a year later! I never received them vie email, certified mail etc....Si I have been trying for 3 years to change my status to reserves. I have called the JAG and they are working. Then I get a letter from Tricare that I owe $43,018.90 in 7 days basically or I will be dropped.
What Ret. Lt. Col. has that kind of dispensable money?
I need to disputed this because it was ARPC/DEERS/TRICARES fault they wouldn't make the change.
So I want this issue under investigation until the JAG has don't a full review. This is how our servicemen and women are treated to an obstructive beuaracacy?
I have all email trails and letters if needed, I need this rectified ASAP.

They kicked me completely out of their system at Walter Reed when I turn 65, without giving me any kind of notice. I only found out about 6 months later when I tried to make an appointment.
Now, they are making me pay an extra $160/mo for Medicare B, on top of the annual Tricare Prime premium I still have to pay to keep my wife & kids on, all so I can receive this inferior TFL coverage. TRICARE For Life truly sucks!!!
